COR Policies and Fees
Certificate of Recognition (COR) Instrument
The Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA) provides a Certificate of Recognition (COR) Instrument for companies going through the COR process. Your company must complete this evaluation and return it to the NSCSA for review. Firms recertifying receive one copy free on their renewal date. However, the evaluation instrument is a useful tool for any company looking to evaluate its safety program. To order, visit our products page.

Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit it to the NSCSA for review along with your safety manual and company profile. Must be submitted within 120 days from the date of the Owner/Operator - Small Business course. |

Small Business/ Intermediate / Standard / Special Considerations |
Year 1 |
Submit the completed COR Evaluation Instrument and a copy of the company safety manual to the NSCSA for review. Must be submitted within one year of the Principles of Loss Control course.
At this point, your company is considered "pending." A NSCSA safety advisor will subsequently visit your company to complete an external audit. |
| Years 2 & 3 |
Must complete the COR Evaluation Instrument and submit it to the NSCSA for review. |
| Year 4 |
The process repeats itself with a full evaluation by a NSCSA safety advisor. |
The NSCSA performs random spot evaluations to ensure the integrity of the process.

The following information outlines the revised fee structure for COR Evaluation services provided by the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA).
The NSCSA is a not-for-profit association and the fees for COR services are based on actual delivery costs. The current revisions to the fee schedule are a result of the continued increase in costs associated with providing this service.
